Jo-chen Hou, PhD, LLP


Jo-chen Hou has a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and is

a Limited Licensed Psychologist with the State of Michigan.  Jo

completed the training from Moody Theological Seminary in 2013. 

Before she started the second career as a clinical therapist, she received

a Ph.D from Yale University in Biology in 1999 and has worked as a

researcher in biomedical field.  Prior to coming to US, she obtained a

Master of Science degree in Neuroscience from Yang-Ming Medical

College in Taiwan in 1992.  

Jo’s academic, vocational, and life experiences have equipped her in

helping clients make connections between cutting-edge sciences and

their presenting issues with clarity, to understand origins of the psychological difficulties with compassion, and to make the changes necessary for healing and improving overall well-being with courage, through various therapeutic approaches.  Jo’s training has also provided her with an opportunity to integrate a Christian worldview in providing a faith-based foundation to the therapeutic process when needed.  In addition to individual therapy, she conducts psychological evaluations for issues such as ADD/ADHD, learning deficits, mood disorders, and personality disorders.
