Maria Elena Dionisio, LMSW

Maria received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University

of Michigan and her Master of Social Work from Wayne State University.

Prior to working at Insight Counseling Services, Maria provided

individual, family and group psychotherapy to clients of all ages for

17 years. She developed a children's grief support group model and

facilitated grief support groups for adults, adolescents and children

while offering individual and family counseling at The Children's Center

of Wayne County from 1997 to 2008. She then moved to Perspectives

Counseling Centers' Troy location, focusing on individual and family

work until 2014, when she seized the opportunity to join Insight.

Maria has made guest appearances on the radio and at various churches, schools, hospitals and workplaces speaking on the topics of grief & loss, anxiety, ADHD, self-care, and stress management. In addition to these areas, her specialties include anger, depression, self-esteem, social skills, spiritual issues and women's issues.

Maria is passionate about walking alongside those who are grieving. She is adept at assisting others though life transitions, helping them find the peace and strength that resides within themselves. 

In her spare time, Maria enjoys reading, walking, traveling and spending time with family.
